What a game...

I made it home just as I expected - with moments to spare before the game started. And what a great game it was. The spread never exceeded 10 points. It was tight from beginning to end... Chalmers' shot to tie it up... overtime... Kansas taking the win. All around, a good time.

I wonder if the Defense Lady was at the game. Perhaps she should have yelled a bit louder this time. In any event, I am sure she was very proud of her Tigers - as well she should be.

Until next March 2009...

My pastor/brother/friend Scot in College Station missed a friend's wedding a few years ago. I asked him how could he miss such an amazing event in someone's life and might I expect the same treatment one day. He replied with a hint of sarcasm, "Well, don't get married in March." You can guess he was at a Final Four game.

Ah... that was probably before TiVo and DVR.

No, when you have tickets to the final four, no amount of TiVo or DVR is going to substitute for actually being there. Lucky bas$%@d gets tickets every year to a round of games. Is that cuss word okay? Sorry. I would miss a wedding, maybe even my own, for the World Series or FIFA World Cup so I really can't hold it against him.

Considering you have to buy those tickets so far in advance... I would not give them up either. Now if it is a matter of going to a wedding or sitting on my couch... I will opt for the wedding (depending on who it is, of course). But live action will win every time.

Then there is plan "B" if you are part of the wedding party. Bring a radio and an ear bud and listen to the game during the ceremony. Make sure the earbud is in the ear that is not facing the audience.

Maybe it is because I am a visual learner/visual person in general, but listenting to a game just doesn't do it for me. I need to see the action...

I just had a visual of some guy at a wedding screaming, "Yes!" at a critical point during the ceremony. I know, cliche, but I feel like there's always a movie playing in my head. It would be worse if it was the pastor performing the vows. Ha ha. I hear a cheesy romantic comedy script coming on!
