I have been hearing stories about temperatures as cold as -40... and I was starting to think it was all a lie to scare the Louisiana Heat out of Texas Todd. Well... we are there. We are not quite at -40 in the pure sense, but we are there if you factor in the wind chill. I think the high tomorrow is -26 C (-15 F). So it is cold. Just walking from the street to the door of my building (like across the sidewalk) was enough time for my nose to freeze a little. It's true.
Early reports are that it will "warm up" by Thursday to a refreshing -10 C (14 F). Nice huh?
But I still say I prefer this weather to the heat. I will check back in on Friday and let you know if I still feel that way...

I admit to preferring the cold to the heat. However, I'm POSITIVE that negative anything is WAY too cold!
Yeah... I think I have reached my breaking point. I walked home last night outside... and my face actually hurt a little. I chose to walk through the +15 sky walks this morning.
I love it that you used a Laurabellism. It's true.
So, I was just thinking how cold it is in my house and that I needed to turn on the heater. Turns out it's 72 degrees. If I were in Canada with you, I might actually die. Speaking of ridiculously cold places that never should have been settled in the first place, be careful while you are there. I don't want to hear that you froze your face off. I've gotten used to it like it is.
It's true. (that was for you ebay)

Honey,
Please cover that face!! Use a scarf or a facemask! Don't worry about impressing anybody in times like that. Cover your eyeballs with fuzzy contacts, if needed. Don't let any skin show. This isn't LaBare. This is LaCalgary.
Are you suggesting I wear a burka to work?
I have to wear a ski hat... and that, of course, messes up my hair. But I wear it nonetheless. I have been known to bring gel with me to make my hair presentable at work.
Yeah... I know - high maintenance.
Like they say in the Middle East, if the Burka fits, wear it--if it's warm.
The Louisiana Heat is living up to his name. ;)
One of my favorite lines from a song -- "It's the kind of night that's so cold, when you spit it freezes before it hits the ground."
Yes, Cowboy Junkies with Margo Timmons singing lead. She's Canadian.
Try it when you get back up there and let me know the results.
