Hymns - Timeless, Tried, True

Here are a few lines from a few hymns that have been an encouragement to me tonight...

I Need Thee Every Hour

I need Thee every hour, most gracious Lord,
No tender voice like Thine can peace afford.

I need Thee every hour; teach me Thy will,
And Thy rich promises in me fulfill.

It is Well With My Soul

My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

Hiding Place

But when Thy spirit shines within
Makes me feel the plague of sin
And how I long to see Thy face
'Tis then I want a hiding place

The second hymn you listed is one of my very favorites. I've sung it through tears with a cracked voice, and I have sung it with a smile beaming on my face. Glad it brought encouragement to you this weekend!

It is Well With my Soul...one of my favorite all time hymns. I have sung it so many times to remind myself that 'it is well with my soul'...that all manner of things are well with my soul.

These are great hymns and can all be found on Jars of Clay's Redemption songs cd. Perhaps the most underated hymns cd in the past few years.
