Featured Pandora Station - Pat Green

I am not a big fan of country music (though I like dancing to it), but I decided to mix it up a little bit this week in the interest of charting new territory. I do like Pat Green, so I hope this week will produce some good stuff. I have already heard a Brooks & Dunn song... so I am not too optimistic. But as I have said before, I will hear the music without knowing who sings it... so I may be surprised. But the favorites list may have fewer songs this week... I'm just sayin'.

Here is that Pandora says about Pat Green's style: "...it features mild rhythmic syncopation, mixed accoustic and electric instrumentation, major key tonality, slide/pedal steel guitar and accoustic rhythm guitars." So there you have it... again, not sure what most of that means.

I like Pat Green too. But some country music gets way too twangy. :) I'm a little surprised you like Pat Green.

Yeah, I am not sure I can make a whole week of listening to this. I may have to flip the station.

Pat Green is good stuff. I enjoyed him at the rodeo... and his music is fun to dance to. I think that is what makes me like country music - I like it if it is fun to dance to. Otherwise, I just don't enjoy it.

I admit to being a country lover at heart...but I blame my mom. We have this "driver's choice" rule in my family, so when she drives (which was most of my childhood) the radio was always tuned to FM 100.3 KILT - so I unwittingly became a lover of 80s country!

Today my tastes are kind of discriminating...I don't like a lot of what's on the radio, but I do like some random "twangy" singers such as Dwight Yoakum. However, that might be because I'm only 2 degrees of separation from him. My uncle taught him in choir in high school (in Ohio of all places).

And as any girl you've spun 'round the dance floor would attest, you're a great dancer, so it's good for the female population that you at least like some couintry music.

OK... I had to do something. I have added Lyle Lovett to the Pat Green station. So stay tuned.

Dovie... I share your childhood country indoctrination. My parents listened to Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Alabama, and others like them. For some reason, the country vibe didn't stick for me. I like songs by many of those artists, but mostly for nostalgic reasons. Of course, they also listened to Abba... so reconcile that.

Oh my, nothing worse than Lyle Lovett and his tight pants. Todd, you can do better than that!

How about signing the anonymous posts? It helps me know if/how to respond.

And Lyle Lovett has good music. Never paid attention to his pants, though.

Lyle Lovett (and his large band) is GREAT in small and well-chosen doses.

I bet I know which Garth Brooks song is your favorite though. ;)
